Why should I press my bouquet?

If you’re looking to have fresh flowers at your wedding, pressing your bouquet is something to consider in order to extend the life of your flowers. As you know, flowers can be quite an investment so we recommend to add a pressed piece to your floral budget, that way you may have smaller arrangements at your tables, but you can enjoy your very own bouquet for years to come. Did you know that, on average, having your flowers pressed takes only about 1% of your total wedding budget? It is the one thing you will be able to look at every day after your wedding.

How far in advance should I book my bouquet?

We only accept up to 15 bouquets per week as it takes time to press each one carefully. Therefore, booking in advance is strongly recommended.

It is recommended that you book as soon as you have a wedding date and half (or a fourth) of the payment available. Booking ahead of time will also freeze your price in case we experience any price changes - we typically change our pricing once a quarter. It’s never too early to book!
We are currently booking 2020-2022

I want to book my spot! How much does it cost?

Pricing depends on which size you would like to purchase. Our bridal bouquets start at $415 for an 8x8 sealed and framed piece. The best part is that you don’t have to pay your total at once. A down payment (half of the total) is required to book your slot. Take a closer look at our pricing.

Remember that your design choices (flowers, flowers + ribbons, flowers + invitation, flowers + stems) does not affect the cost of your piece! You are welcome to add your bouquet ribbon, photos or invitation to your piece (must be flat).
If your design is a Mixed Media, an additional $60 will be charged. If you want a specific silohuette (state silohuette, animal, etc), we will review your design and get back to you with the design cost.

Additional costs to consider are shipping and any additional pieces or upgrades you would like to order. These extras are optional. *For orders of $550 or more: Need a payment plan? Let us know! We now offer an installment plan of four payments, instead of two. *Pricing may change without notice. If you are booked, your given quote will not be affected

What size do you recommend?

This depends on a variety of factors, mostly personal preference. Consider the amount of wall space you have available.

Another thing to consider is your design of choice. If you would like to include your wedding invitation in your piece, we recommend you select an 11x14 piece.
While our customers' favorite size is 11x14 in 16x20 double matted frame, we recommend that you look at our gallery for inspiration - we add the size and frame choice on all of our posts (and more details!)

I’m not sure which design to pick. What are my options?

We have plenty of bridal designs to choose from! A few of our classic options include designs with: flowers only, flowers & the bouquet ribbon, bouquet recreation (flowers with stems included) are all the same price. Dress/silhouette, and other design options have an upcharge of $60 or more.

There are no limits as far as creativity. We can always do something different! Past bouquets have ranged from a Dallas Skyline to a Hogwarts Castle! Let’s work together to create a piece unique to you and your marriage.

Am I able to add anything to my piece?

Yes! Feel free to add your wedding invitation, ribbon, even a wedding photo! 11x14 is the recommended size if you want to add an invitation or a picture; this will allow us to have plenty of space available to showcase your pressed flowers. Let us know what you have in mind and we can figure something out together. Need inspiration? Check out some of our previous work!

You can also order smaller pieces of art for an additional cost. We offer 5x5 and 5x7 pieces that are perfect for sending out as Thank You gifts or displaying on a bedroom nightstand or in your office!
If you want to add charms, they need to be pretty flat. A double matted frame will be required to add a thick piece to your art. Once we go over your design selections, we will let you know what your options are.

What are my frame options?

It’s important to know that because your piece REQUIRES a frame for its’ own protection. We now offer framed and sealed pieces only.

We have a variety of options for you! You can choose 10 different frame colors/finishes. We recommend matted frames as it will make your piece stand out more and appear bigger.
Please refer to our Framing Options section.

What if I change my mind about my order?

You are welcome to change the size of your order as long as you do so before we receive your flowers for pressing. This way we can be sure to press the amount of flowers we need for your piece. We will honor the pricing from when you booked for 90 days. After that, any size changes are subject to new pricing. If you decided to downgrade in size, you must do so before we press your flowers. Because the amount of time spent pressing a bouquet is determined by the size of the piece ordered, we do not allow downgrades once the bouquet has already been pressed.

I’m out of state. Can you still press my bouquet?

Yes! Many of our bouquets come from outside of Texas. As long as you’re located in one of the lower 48 states, we can help. (Sorry, Hawaii & Alaska)

We will send out care + shipping instructions along with your down payment’s invoice.
Because overnighting your bouquet the Monday after the wedding is crucial, we recommend that you check with your local post office rates before you book your bouquet.

When should I ship/bring you my bouquet?

If you are shipping, we will need you to overnight your flowers to us the Monday after your wedding so that we can receive them by Tuesday and start pressing.

If you are in the Dallas area you may drop off your flowers on Monday. Contact us to schedule a drop-off time.

Your flowers should be no later than 4 days old when we receive them. Otherwise, we will not be able to work with them.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us.

When will my piece be ready?

4-6 months. Pressed flower art is a lengthy and tedious process because it requires great care and attention to detail. The actual pressing of your flowers alone could take anywhere from 3-4 hours depending on how big your piece will be. The drying process is what takes the longest, between 6-8 weeks. It’s also the most important step because your flowers need to be completely free of moisture before we can put your piece together. Otherwise, your artwork could mold. Handcrafting your piece is the step that requires the most attention to detail. I will carefully color-enhance your flowers to help them retain their color over the years and will then strategically begin to piece your artwork together. Lastly, your piece will be sealed and framed.
None of this process should be rushed. We can’t wait for you to see your artwork but we also want to present you with the most beautiful piece possible. We highly appreciate your patience throughout this process.

How long will my pressed artwork last?

As long as you treat your piece with care, it should be with you for years to come!

A few tips to enjoy your pressed flowers forever:
Place your piece away from direct sunlight and in dry places (avoid bathrooms where the piece may be exposed to a lot of humidity).
Although our color enhancing techniques and sealants help preserve the natural color of your flowers overtime, keep in mind that your piece once had real, living flowers. Expect your flowers to change colors and remember, this is natural.

What can I expect from my artwork down the road?

Our pieces are made with a lot of love and extra care. Every piece is sealed so that humidity and little bugs don't get inside the piece. Our matboards are 100% Alpha-Cellulose, Acid-Free and Lignin-Free Surface, Core and Backing. 4Ply matboard that is conservation quality acid and lignin free to help protect your art work. While we do use color enhancing techniques to aid in color retention, remember that your flowers were at one point, living things. As they age, your flowers will eventually experience fading. Pressed flowers are especially delicate. It is possible that part of your flowers could eventually break or fall resulting in flower particles or pollen in your frame. Remember that this is natural and should be expected. Your flowers will continue to age like we do.

I still have my wedding bouquet from several years ago. Is there anything you can do with it?

Unfortunately, we currently only accept flowers that are no longer than 4 days old. We will soon begin to experiment with dried flowers so don’t toss your bouquet just yet! We may be offering this service in the near future. Stay tuned!

I would love to give this as a gift to a loved one that is getting married. How do I do this?

A pressed flower piece would be such a thoughtful gift, one that your loved one will be sure to cherish for years to come. We can walk you through the process or we can issue a gift certificate and have the bride and groom handle all of the details to their liking. Please fill out our BOOK NOW form so we can get back to you with availability and walk you through the process.

Can you press any flower?

We will certainly try to press every flower and piece of greenery in your bouquet. We will even take flowers apart if we think it will help them press better. However, not all flowers will make it through the pressing process and this is natural. Thicker flowers tend to retain a lot of moisture which can result in molding. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to press each type of flower beautifully. What we can guarantee is that we will do our best to prepare the flower for pressing and do our best to rebuild a flower that had a hard time in our presses. Succulents can be pressed for an additional fee of $20*

What are the best flowers to press?

Flowers that are naturally flat blooms will press the best.

Pro-tip: Another thing to keep in mind is that white flowers are more likely to turn brown in the presses. Ask your florist to keep from spraying your flowers with preservatives or other sprays if possible. Natural flowers work best!

How does payment work?

Because we need to have a deposit to book you, invoices are due upon receipt. Due to high demand, we will not hold spots for unpaid invoices after 7 days, no exceptions. We are able to offer an interest-free payment plan of four installments to all orders. Four invoices total will be sent. The deposit, a quarter of the total piece, will be due to book you, and you will be billed monthly for the second and third payments. The last payment will be due before we ship the piece to you. Upgrades, additional pieces and/or shipping, if applicable, will be charged on the last invoice.

What if my bouquet is all white?

A big number of bridal bouquets are all-white flowers. We love to work with them as long as they have some greenery in them. Because white flowers tend to press ivory, we do not press all-white bouquets that have no greenery.

What if my wedding is on a Holiday?

We are able to accept bouquets during the weeks of major holidays. However, due to the holidays, we have limited staff working and, thus, are only able to accept a limited number of bouquets those weeks. In addition, there is a $100 holiday booking fee to cover the cost of overtime to have one of our team members to work during the holiday to press your bouquet. Below is a list of the major holidays that this booking fee will apply to. 4th of July Labor Day Thanksgiving Christmas New Years *Please note, bouquets still need to be overnighted, if the Holiday is on Monday, you will need to overnight your bouquet on Tuesday so we receive it on Wednesday morning. No exemptions.

Last-minute bookings

We are often asked if we can preserve flowers a few days before the wedding or even a couple of days after the wedding. If our agenda allows us to move things around, we may be able to help out. Pictures of the flowers will be needed to ensure they are still in the best condition possible. We will not be able to accept bouquets that have not been in water or are more than four days old after the event. Please note that because accepting a last-minute booking is a lot of work on our part and we have to bring more people to help, an additional fee will be required. Last-minute booking fee starts at $50 and it depends on what all we need to do to accomodate your bouquet.

Are you accepting 2022 bookings?

Due to Covid, many of our brides changed their date to 2021; for this reason, our next year's calendar is filling up quicker. Please note that we typically change our pricing 1-2 times per year, so the sooner you book, the better, as we will "lock" today's pricing when booking.

Could COVID-19 affect my booking?

Much like many others around the world facing the uncertainty of Covid-19, we are striving to take the correct course of action as being disclosed by the CDC. Rest assure that we will take care of you. We are a very small business and at this time, we are continuing to operate. We are making decisions daily as how to best serve our brides and to keep clients, employees and our families safe and healthy. While we are trying super hard to accomodate all our brides that were pushed to reschedule their wedding dates, a rescheduling fee may apply for those dates that we are overbooked by 150% capacity. Please read our Covid-19 Guidelines and News here www.dbandrea.com/news
